ASU/GRSM offers a prayer service to all who would make a request, either for themselves or on behalf of a loved one. Our organization has certified ministers and practitioners trained in the scientific method of prayer who are in service to others. Prayer requests may be submitted to
or by calling 757-497-1815. Your request will be added to our prayer list.
Please include the full name of the person we will pray for, and the reason for the prayer, such as an illness, either physical or psychological, and also give other reasons for the prayer besides illness, if there are any. Frivolous things like winning lottery numbers or things of that nature will not be honored.
It is an honor for us to serve you.
Background: Humankind throughout all ages has been healed through prayer; some more successfully than others. Some people pray through faith alone, acknowledging a higher power, while not fully understanding the process. Other people live in perfect health and are successful in life without really knowing the reason. This dichotomy may suggest that some people are favored while others are not. If this is not true – then what is the truth? The truth is that we are our thoughts, and we attract to us what our thoughts are focused on.
In the Science of Mind philosophy, Dr. Ernest Holmes stated that we live in a Spiritual Universe of Law and Order, and the way we contact the Laws of the Spiritual Universe is through prayer. Dr. Holmes further stated that prayer is mental, a certain mental attitude; prayer is a certain way of thinking, and a certain way of believing. When we pray, we set the Law of Love in motion, which is the foundation of our Universe. Dr. Holmes also maintained that we will deliver ourselves from sickness and trouble in the exact proportion to our discovery of who we are, our true relationship to the “Whole”; and that hidden away in the inner nature of humankind is the law of life.
Dr. Holmes’ philosophy concerning prayer agrees with the concepts and principles that are put forth in the teachings of the ancient philosophers who taught the mysteries of the Universe to the very selected few who were considered worthy of such powerful information.
The ancient and more recent philosophers, as well as modern science, have proved many times that prayer works and it works well. Prayer in itself is one of the most powerful forces in the Universe, and when emotions are added, prayer is then a force to be reckoned with.
Conclusion: Once we have an understanding of the principles put forth by Dr. Holmes and the ancient philosophers, we can pray with the knowledge that our prayers have been answered and that we as human beings create the world, as we know it. To do this we must first realize that:
- We are our thoughts
- We draw to us what our thoughts are focused on
- We must not allow negative thoughts to dominate our thought processes
- With each thought – we create our next moment – thus our future
- Thoughts are a living energy and therefore are a force
- We must live in the “Moment” and fully realize that our life is a “Living Prayer”
- We are what we pray for – both consciously and subconsciously.
