Rev.
Jane Weaver, Vice
President Jane is a counselor, researcher, and educator. Her experience
includes strategic planning for a cabinet-level federal agency and
serving on the undergraduate faculty for colleges in Maryland,
Virginia, and the
District of Columbia. Jane is a lifetime member of both the Society for
the Study of Metaphysical Religion and the International New Thought
Alliance, and a qualified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
professional. Jane was ordained in
Religious Science in 1993, and has served on the board and as a
practitioner, church newsletter editor, membership database manager,
and associate minister. She designed the seminary brochure, created
a course booklist, and has served as the Web liaison for the Global
Religious Science Ministries website since 2002 and is currently the
webmaster for the AS-U website.
Rev. Dr. Thelma Smith,
Treasurer Above, Rev. Dr. Thelma Smith receives the first GRSM Honorary Doctor
of Divinity degree from former GRSM President, Rev. Doug Kinney. Rev. Thelma Smith began studies in 1981 and was ordained 1988. She
founded the King George Center for Creative Living. Thelma has served as
pastor of the Spiritual Mind Center of Richmond with her husband, Rev.
Dwight Smith. She is a charter member GRSM and served as President from
1991 through 1997. Thelma specializes in self-empowerment programs and feels that self
esteem (or lack thereof) underlies all of our experiences in life. Her
philosophy is that Life is a gift and the more we can identify with that
gift and involve ourselves in it, the better we are able to live it.
Rev. Chris Coates,
Alternate Ordained minister and licensed practitioner. Chris teaches SOM
classes and spiritual workshops in the King George/
Fredericksburg/Richmond, VA areas. She is the creator of the Blueprint
for God method of manifesting. Certified Facilitator; Teaches
organization and strategic planning to spiritual and religious
organizations; Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist; Mystic; Spiritual
Channel; Advisor/Instructor. Served as VP of GRSM for 5 years, and fills
in as Acting Secretary. Active in the organization since 1986. She says
"It is my desire to be a catalyst that inspires individuals to reach for
and accomplish their dreams." Rev Chris is currently pursuing the Doctor
of Divinity degree through GRSM.
Rev. Doug Kinney, Alternate Ordained minister and licensed practitioner of Religious Science;
ordained since 1987. One of the original founders of GRSM. Past
Executive Board Member of International New Thought Alliance (INTA)
(1998-2000). Treasure and President-Emeritus for the Capital District
INTA. Past president of the Capital District INTA (1992-2001). Former
minister of the Fairfax Science of Mind Center (1991-1993). System
engineering manager with over 30 years experience in engineering.
Masters degree in Management Science and bachelors degree in
Aeronautical Engineering. Former GRSM president; currently helps
churches and centers with their charters, mentors
other interfaith professionals, and fills in wherever he is needed!
Rev.
Dwight
Smith, Member-at-Large Rev. Dwight Smith (pictured above with his wife, Rev. Dr. Thelma
Smith) began his studies in the Science of Mind in March 1984. Dwight
served as the "assistant" minister at the King George Center for
Creative Living from 1989 through 1991, received his ministerial license
in June 1990, and was ordained in March 1991. In 1991 he and his wife,
Rev. Thelma, founded the Spiritual Mind Center in Richmond where they
teach certified classes in the Science of Mind, provide Spiritual
Counseling, and host Sunday services and conduct other ceremonies. Rev.
Dwight has been on the Commission of Ministers of the Global Religious
Science Ministries (GRSM) since 1988 and has held the positions of
Vice-president and Secretary. Dwight greatly assisted the organization
in achieving its 501(c)3 status with the US Internal Revenue Service.
Dwight enjoys "Love-ing himself" and through this, he allows everyone
in his life to become a teacher to gain a greater understanding of
himself, God, and their relationship. He
currently heads our prayer team!
Carolyn provides counseling and
treatment service for the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. She chairs the
AS-U Grants Committee. |
